love letters to the w.w.

Thesis Project, Prof. Jackie Gendel, Spring 2020

This body of work reflects on memories of ‘coming-of-age’ and the influence of memory in the continual process of aging/becoming. The work draws inspiration from the processes through which memory is formed, retained, and disrupted. The memories represented are my own but reflect experiences and emotions that are commonly shared during ‘coming-of-age’ as shown through film, television, literature, mythology, art history. This body of work consists of paired sculpted legs and autonomously generated landscapes representing five of the main ‘coming-of-age’ experiences; embarrassment, sex , rebellion, independence, and ceremony.
